Marisa Wigglesworth will share plans for the renovation of the Buffalo Museum of Science’s final science studio, focused on space and aerospace, and the restoration of the historic Kellogg Observatory. The completion of these projects will mark the Museum’s largest transformation in the Society’s 154-year history. Reopening the Observatory will conclude a multi-million dollar campaign to transform all of the Museum’s permanent galleries into interac- tive, changeable, and educational spaces that combine hands-on learning activities with pieces from the Museum’s collection of 700,000 artifacts.

Explore & More Children’s Museum
Douglas Love will give us an overview of the exciting plans for the new Explore & More Children’s Museum at Canalside, which will offer seven educational play zones that each tell the stories of Buffalo in unique, inspiring and interactive ways. Erie Canal Harbor Develop- ment Corporation will break ground on Explore & More’s new building in the South Aud Block of Canalside in March 2017. The Museum is expected to open downtown in late 2018.
