Bricks For Buffalo

Leave a legacy by purchasing a brick, bench or tree. Print out the Order Form (20k PDF) to place your order.

Create a legacy for yourself, family, friends, organization or business by purchasing a cobblestone brick or another item in one of the Bricks for Buffalo walkways. The Plaza Walkway and Women's Walkway are located on downtown Buffalo's waterfront at the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority DL&W terminal across the street from HSBC arena.

The Women's Walkway is in the outer perimeter of the plaza area and was constructed in September 2001. The Plaza Walkway, located next to the Buffalo River, was constructed in August 2002. Working For Downtown collaborated with the Women's Pavilion Pan Am 2001 on construction of the Women's Walkway. After construction, purchased items are engraved on site periodically each year. Gift cards are available and the purchase price is tax deductible. Excess revenue from the project will be used to fund downtown public art.

In addition to cobblestone bricks, the Women's Walkway includes granite stones honoring 100 women of the past who have contributed in a profound way to Western New York. Those honored include Lucille Ball, a popular television entertainer, Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross, and Belva Bennett Lockwood, the first woman to run for US president. A brochure on Bricks for Buffalo and another brochure with brief information on the 100 women are available by calling (716) 854-2314.
