Awards

At the WFD Annual Meeting held every June, we honor individuals and organizations for their contributions to Buffalo and the downtown community. Below is a description of the Awards and a list of past award recipients.

WFD MEMBER RECOGNITION AWARD
WFD is proud to honor a WFD member for his or her efforts in making Downtown Buffalo a better place. To qualify for this recognition award, you must be a good standing WFD member whose efforts have resulted in the significant betterment of Downtown.

FERNBACH AWARD
The Fernbach Award, initiated in the early 1980s and originally named the Bright Spot Award, is given to organizations whose efforts have resulted in the aesthetic revitalization of Downtown Buffalo.

JOAN BOZER AWARD
The Joan Bozer Award was initiated by Working For Downtown in 1995 to recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution to improving Downtown Buffalo.
