Proposing a New Linear “Rail” Park – Feb 6, 2019

In Buffalo, wildlife is reclaiming an unused rail corridor. For a mile and a half, through the First Ward, the Valley, and the Perry Neighborhood, this land connects the DL&W Terminal in downtown Buffalo near Canalside to the Buffalo River across from Solar City. Since the fall of 2017, the Western New York Land Conservancy has been meeting with neighbors and community leaders to start a conversation about creating an inspiring and environmentally-friendly linear park and multi-use trail along this rail corridor. Come listen to Alicia Fahrner from the Land Conservancy fill us in on where this initiative is currently.

Buffalo Walks – Richardson Olmsted Campus

Join us on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 as we tour the Richardson Olmsted Campus, 444 Forest Avenue (Towers Bldg)

A historic one-hour tour of the Richardson Olmsted Campus focusing on the past, present and future of the buildings. Hard hats will be provided. This tour does require walking and climbing multiple flights of stairs so for your safety, wear comfortable closed-toe shoes. You are encouraged to wear layers and bring water & flashlights – you may get dusty. Parking is limited so carpool if possible. You will need to sign a release form to complete the tour. Tour is $15.00 for all attendees (members and non-members).
